Communications Specialist (Job) - Charter Communications (Paid)

Full or Part Time: Full-time
Primary Location: WAITE PARK, MN 56387
Work Schedule - Days: Mon - Fri with some weekends
Work Schedule - Hours: Generally 8 - 5 but can vary
Percent Travel 25

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing communications services and public relations to both internal and external audience in a timely and effective manner

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Initiate, develop and execute concepts to improve ongoing communications with external media sources, including print, Internet and miscellaneous sources
Research, create and write communications materials, communicating with appropriate leadership
Research media venues for Charter related topics and dialog
Develop working relationships with Charter’s internal subject matter experts (SMEs)
Assist senior leadership with their role in meetings, including provision of key message points and presentation materials
Perform other duties as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word & Excel) Excellent writing and media relations skills required
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to attend to detail
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Knowledge of telecommunication products and services
Strong ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner Demonstrates Internet research ability
Education (level and type)Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience

Related Work Experience/ Years in Communications / public relations experience 0-2
Cable television, telephone, broadband environment experience preferred
